TenForce and Rombit Announce Permit-to-Work Partnership to Ensure Worker Safety in Real-time
April 6, 2022 — Leuven, Antwerp (BE), Detroit, Houston (US)
TenForce and Rombit announce their partnership to enhance Permit-to-Work (PtW) Management with real-time location and event data and alerts. An industry first, the two tech companies will jointly provide a real-time risk management solution, aimed to support EHS and Production managers in improving safety, quality, and visibility during service rounds.
No real-time view on worker safety and dangerous work
Managing Permits to Work (PtW) is time-intensive and error-prone. Production managers have no visibility of ongoing activities and work zone access, while HSEQ managers aim to eliminate safety risks. PtW and EHS management systems rely on manual data inputs.
Real-time data bypasses the need for error-prone written reports
The two tech companies come together to extend the TenForce Permit-to-Work management platform with IoT data from Rombit ONE – a wearable safety device – and offer a closed-loop system for managing your permits and worker safety, in real-time.
“By integrating with Rombit ONE, TenForce is one of the first EHSQ software platforms to ensure real-time visibility into worker safety for Permit-to-Work Management and Lock-Out Tag-Out systems. We believe that this partnership is a step forward in enabling better collaboration between the office teams and the reality of the shop floor.” Bastiaan Deblieck, CCO & Co-founder TenForce
Every permit issued by a PtW platform activates a predefined geofence around the area of the work order. The Rombit wearable tracks all entries into the GPS-geofenced or UWB-marked zone confirms the start and end of the work order when the team enters or exits the zone, or activates an alarm in case of a non-permitted entry.
“Industrial and construction activities struggle with work permit management due to the lack of real-time insights. Our IoT systems enable event-based geofencing. We activate virtual zones during service rounds and check the safety and compliance of authorized personnel.” Evert Bulcke, Rombit COO and Head of Product.
Extending the wearable with Rombit’s Lone Worker functionality allows HSEQ managers to receive real-time alerts when a worker is in distress through fall, shock, and no motion detection, or the activation of the personal SOS button.
