Leuven, September 10th, 2020

TenForce, a leading provider of a SHEQ software solution, is excited to announce AI-PROFICIENTan ambitious R&D project aimed at applying AIIIoT and AR technology to improve plant productivity across the entire EU manufacturing and process industry.

AI-PROFICIENT will increase the positive impact of Artificial IntelligenceIIoT (Industrial Internet of Things) and Augmented Reality technologies on plant productivity, while keeping the human in the central position, assuming supervisory and executive roles.

The platform will provide recommendations and decision support to the plant operators, as well as perform an automated control in case of production process adjustmentsAll this through:

  • Event identification and prediction – early-stage fault detection and diagnostics, prediction of quality problems, resource and waste material flows, via predictive deep learning analytics.
  • Operation scenarios simulation – digital-twin based simulation and AIbased evaluation of production process scenarios to minimize the risk of an unexpected-event occurring.
  • Transparent decision and optimal control – identification of optimal production execution and scheduling by linking to operation parameters and maintenance plansthrough AI decision-making and human interaction support.
  • Personalized shop-floor assistance – role-specific human-machine visualization, extended reality and conversational interfaces for the connected worker.

The project will develop proactive control strategies and improve manufacturing processes across three main vectors – production efficiency, quality and maintenance – targeting a 10% increase in Overall Production Efficiency (OPE) and a 50% decrease in low-quality product output.

The implementation of the concept will be based on the results of several recently finished European R&D projects, which will be demonstrated in two pilot sites, under different scenarios of significant economic valueThis 3-year, 5.5-million-euro project, has been awarded a Horizon 2020 funding by the EC and will be set in motion starting Q4 2020with the collaboration of the following companies and research institutions:

  • UNIVERSITE DE LORRAINE, France
  • CONTINENTAL, France
  • FUNDACION TEKNIKER, Spain
  • INEOS, Belgium
  • TENFORCE, Belgium
  • VTT, Finland
  • INOS, Greece
  • IBERMATICA, Spain
  • INSTITUT MIHAJLO PUPIN, Serbia
  • ATHENS TECHNOLOGY CENTER, Greece
